Anti-parvalbumin antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PVALB gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 110 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.1 kDa. It is a member of the Parvalbumin protein family. Other names for this target antigen include D22S749 and parvalbumin alpha. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
