Anti-NCKAP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein NCK associated protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1128 amino acid residues and a mass of 128.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in all tissues examined except peripheral blood leukocytes, with highest expression in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle. A member of the HEM-1/HEM-2 protein family, NCKAP1 is known to be a part of the WAVE complex that regulates lamellipodia formation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HEM2 and NAP1. NCKAP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of NCKAP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
