Anti-PSPC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein paraspeckle component 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 523 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the pancreas, kidney, skeletal muscle, liver, lung, placenta, brain and heart. A member of the PSPC protein family, PSPC1 is reported to regulate, cooperatively with NONO and SFPQ, androgen receptor-mediated gene transcription activity in Sertoli cell line (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include PSP1 and paraspeckle protein 1. PSPC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
