Anti-TMIE antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane inner ear. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 156 amino acid residues and a mass of 17.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues. The TMIE gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. Synonyms for this target antigen include transmembrane inner ear expressed protein and transmembrane inner ear protein. TMIE gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMIE antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
