Anti-PTGER3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein prostaglandin E receptor 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 390 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 12 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the kidney. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family, PTGER3 is a known receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The PTGER3 marker can be used to identify Amygdala Excitatory Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include EP3-I, EP3-II, EP3-III, EP3-IV, EP3-VI, EP3e, PGE2-R, and EP3. PTGER3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
