Anti-KNTC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein kinetochore associated 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2209 amino acid residues and a mass of 250.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the testis. KNTC1 is an important component of the mitotic checkpoint, which prevents cells from prematurely exiting mitosis. Synonyms for this target antigen include kinetochore-associated protein 1, Rough Deal homolog, centromere/kinetochore protein, and ROD. KNTC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some KNTC1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
