Anti-HSD3B1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 373 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and ER. It is notably expressed in the placenta and testis. A member of the 3-beta-HSD protein family, HSD3B1 is known to be involved with brain development. Synonyms for this target antigen include HSD3B, HSDB3A, SDR11E1, 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/Delta 5-->4-isomerase type 1, and 3BETAHSD. HSD3B1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and zebrafish species. A number of HSD3B1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
