Anti-neurogranin (protein kinase C substrate, RC3) antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target neurogranin (protein kinase C substrate, RC3) is a known alias name of the protein neurogranin, encoded by the NRGN gene in humans. This 78-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a 'third messenger' substrate of protein kinase C-mediated molecular cascades during synaptic development and remodeling. It is reported to be expressed in the lung, kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate. Other synonyms for neurogranin (protein kinase C substrate, RC3) include RC3, hng, and calmodulin-binding protein.
