Anti-FSCN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein fascin actin-bundling protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 493 amino acid residues and a mass of 54.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Fascin protein family, FSCN1 is reported to be an actin-binding protein that contains 2 major actin binding sites. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HSN, SNL, p55, fascin, 55 kDa actin-bundling protein, and FAN1. FSCN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 110 citations in the literature describe the use of FSCN1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
