Anti-HBQ1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hemoglobin subunit theta 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 142 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.5 kDa. It is notably expressed in the bone marrow. It is a member of the Globin protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include hemoglobin theta-1 chain, hemoglobin, theta 1, theta-1-globin, and HBQ. HBQ1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for HBQ1 antibodies.
