This target is a reported synonym of the EML5 gene, which encodes EMAP like 5. This protein is believed to modify the assembly dynamics of microtubules, such that microtubules are slightly longer, but more dynamic. The human version of Echinoderm Microtubule-associated Protein-like 5 has a canonical amino acid length of 1969 residues and a protein mass of 219.4 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells. This target antigen may also be known as echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 5.
