Anti-Claudin 18 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CLDN18 in humans. The Claudin 18 protein has an expected mass of 27.9 kDa, but there are 2 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as SFTA5, SFTPJ, surfactant associated 5, and surfactant associated protein J. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
