Anti-H6 Family Homeobox 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the HMX2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 273 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the HMX homeobox protein family, it is a reported transcription factor involved in specification of neuronal cell types and which is required for inner ear and hypothalamus development. Other names for this target antigen include Nkx5-2, homeobox protein HMX2, homeo box (H6 family) 2, homeobox protein H6 family member 2, and H6L. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some H6 Family Homeobox 2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
