Anti-ESS2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ess-2 splicing factor homolog. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 476 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart, brain and skeletal muscle. A member of the ESS2 protein family, ESS2 is suspected to be involved in pre-mRNA splicing. Synonyms for this target antigen include DGCR14, DGS-H, DGS-I, DGSH, DGSI, ES2, Es2el, and DGCR13. ESS2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These ESS2 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
