Anti-CA13 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein carbonic anhydrase 13. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 262 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.4 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in thymus, small intestine, spleen, prostate, ovary, colon and testis. It is a member of the Alpha-carbonic anhydrase protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include carbonate dehydratase XIII, carbonic anhydrase XIII, and CA-XIII. CA13 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some CA13 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
