Anti-ANXA8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein annexin A8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 327 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.9 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Annexin protein family, ANXA8 is known to be an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Synonyms for this target antigen include annexin VIII, annexin-8, vascular anticoagulant-beta, and VAC-beta. Some ANXA8 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
