Anti-SCAMP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein secretory carrier membrane protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 347 amino acid residues and a mass of 38.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is found to be widely expressed, with highest expression in heart and skeletal muscle. A member of a the SCAMP protein family, SCAMP3 is reported to function in post-Golgi recycling pathways. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include secretory carrier-associated membrane protein 3, propin 1, and C1orf3.
