Anti-FGGY antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein FGGY carbohydrate kinase domain containing. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 551 amino acid residues and a mass of 60 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 6 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in kidney, lung and small intestine and to a lower extent in liver and detected in cerebrospinal fluid. A member of a the FGGY kinase protein family, FGGY is known to catalyze ATP-dependent phosphorylation of D-ribulose at C-5 to form D-ribulose 5-phosphate. Synonyms for this target antigen include D-ribulokinase, D-ribulokinase FGGY, and FGGY carbohydrate kinase domain-containing protein.
