Anti-PKHD1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PKHD1 ciliary IPT domain containing fibrocystin/polyductin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 4074 amino acid residues and a mass of 446.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the fetal and adult kidney. PKHD1 is reported to promote ciliogenesis in renal epithelial cells and therefore participates in the tubules formation and/ or ensures the maintenance of the architecture of the lumen of the kidney (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include FCYT, FPC, PKD4, TIGM1, fibrocystin, PKHD1, fibrocystin/polyductin, TIG multiple domains 1, and ARPKD. PKHD1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. ELISA is the most common application for the PKHD1 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
