Anti-TMC4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane channel like 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 712 amino acid residues and a mass of 79.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the TMC protein family, TMC4 is a suspected ion channel. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include transmembrane channel-like protein 4 and testicular tissue protein Li 204. TMC4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. Some TMC4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
