Anti-GUK1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein guanylate kinase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 197 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Guanylate kinase protein family, GUK1 is known to catalyze the phosphorylation of GMP to GDP. Synonyms for this target antigen include guanylate kinase, ATP:GMP phosphotransferase, GMP kinase, and GMK. GUK1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the GUK1 antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
