Anti-CTNNA3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein catenin alpha 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 895 amino acid residues and a mass of 99.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart and testis. A member of the Vinculin/alpha-catenin protein family, CTNNA3 is suspected to be involved in formation of stretch-resistant cell-cell adhesion complexes. Synonyms for this target antigen include VR22, alpha-T-catenin, alpha-catenin-like protein, catenin (cadherin-associated protein), alpha 3, and ARVD13. CTNNA3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CTNNA3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
