Anti-14-3-3 epsilon antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 14-3-3 epsilon antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the YWHAE gene, which encodes tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein epsilon. This protein is known to function in brain development, among other biological roles. The human version of 14-3-3 epsilon has a canonical amino acid length of 255 residues and a protein mass of 29.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include 14-3-3E, HEL2, and KCIP-1. Western Blot is the most common application for the 14-3-3 epsilon antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
