Anti-Mucin 5AC, oligomeric mucus/gel-forming antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MUC5AC in humans. The gene may also be known as leB, MGM, TBM, Mucin 5AC, gastric mucin, and MUC5. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 585.6 kilodaltons in mass. The MUC5AC marker can be used to identify Lobar Bronchus Epithelium Goblet Cells, Tracheobronchial Goblet Cells, and Tracheal Goblet Cells.* Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
