MLL3, or Lysine (K)-specific methyltransferase 2C, is a human gene encoded by KMT2C. It may also be known as: Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2C; Lysine N-methyltransferase 2C; Homologous to ALR protein; Myeloid/lymphoid or mixed-lineage leukemia protein 3; HALR. The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 4911 and a mass of 541.4 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. MLL3 is a member of the Class V-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily, Histone-lysine methyltransferase family, TRX/MLL subfamily. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Mouse, Frog, Chicken.
