Anti-DAT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DAT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLC6A3 gene, which encodes solute carrier family 6 member 3. This protein is known to function in pathways of aging, among other biological roles. The human version of DAT has a canonical amino acid length of 620 residues and a protein mass of 68.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the caudate and substantia nigra. This target antigen may also be known as DAT1.
