Anti-KATNAL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein katanin catalytic subunit A1 like 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 490 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, restricted to Sertoli cells. A member of the AAA ATPase protein family, KATNAL1 is reported to regulate microtubule dynamics in Sertoli cells, a process that is essential for spermiogenesis and male fertility. Synonyms for this target antigen include katanin catalytic subunit A like 1, katanin p60 subunit A like 1, p60 katanin-like 1, and katanin p60 ATPase-containing subunit A-like 1. KATNAL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some KATNAL1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
