Anti-TERA antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TERA antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the VCP gene, which encodes valosin containing protein. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and autophagy pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of TERA has a canonical amino acid length of 806 residues and a protein mass of 89.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. TERA is a member of the AAA ATPase protein family.
