Anti-RPD3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target RPD3 is a known alias name of the protein histone deacetylase 2, encoded by the HDAC2 gene in humans. This 488-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a histone deacetylase that catalyzes the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4). It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features acetylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed, lower levels in the brain and lung. Other synonyms for RPD3 include HD2, HD2, and KDAC2. Some RPD3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
