Anti-PARP-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PARP-1 is a known alias name of the protein poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1, encoded by the PARP1 gene in humans. This 1014-amino acid residue protein is a reported Poly-ADP-ribosyltransferase that mediates poly-ADP-ribosylation of proteins and plays a key role in DNA repair. It is localized to the nucleus, chromosomes, and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, sumoylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PARP-1 include ADPRT, ADPRT 1, and ADPRT1. A number of PARP-1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
