Anti-GP5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glycoprotein V platelet. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 560 amino acid residues and a mass of 61 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. GP5 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include GPV, platelet glycoprotein V, glycoprotein 5, and CD42d. GP5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species. A number of GP5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Flow Cytometry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
