Anti-Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene EIF5A in humans. The gene may also be known as EIF4D, EIF5A1, EIF-5A, eIF5AI, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A-1, and eIF-4D. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 16.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
