Anti-DQ-A1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DQ-A1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HLA-DQA2 gene, which encodes major histocompatibility complex, class II, DQ alpha 2. This protein is known to function in adaptive immune responses, among other biological roles. The human version of DQ-A1 has a canonical amino acid length of 255 residues and a protein mass of 28 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and cell membrane of cells. Other names for this target antigen include DC-alpha and DX-ALPHA.
