Anti-CXCR3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the gene, C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 3 (CXCR3) in humans. The canonical CXCR3 protein is 368 amino acids in length, 40.7 kDa in mass, and has a membrane subcellular localization. It is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family. CXCR3 functions in C-C chemokine receptor activity and C-C chemokine binding, as well as having a role in GPCR signaling. Tissue-specific expression of CXCR3 has been observed in several tissues, including kidney, liver, heart, skeletal muscle and placenta. Post-translational modifications have been described, notably glycosylation. Synonyms for this protein include: CD182; CD183; CKR-L2; CMKAR3; GPR9; IP10-R; MigR; C-X-C chemokine receptor type 3; G protein-coupled receptor 9; IP-10 receptor. Orthologs for CXCR3 have also been reported in other species, including mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee.
