Anti-14-3-3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 14-3-3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the YWHAQ gene, which encodes tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein theta. This protein is known to function in the regulation of transcription and signal transduction pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of 14-3-3 has a canonical amino acid length of 245 residues and a protein mass of 27.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as 1C5.
