Anti-AMZ1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein archaelysin family metallopeptidase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 498 amino acid residues and a mass of 54.9 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Peptidase M54 protein family, AMZ1 is a suspected zinc metalloprotease. Synonyms for this target antigen include archeobacterial metalloproteinase-like protein 1, metalloproteinase-like protein, and archaemetzincin-1. AMZ1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some AMZ1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
