Anti-CYP21 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CYP21 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CYP21A2 gene, which encodes cytochrome P450 family 21 subfamily A member 2. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of CYP21 has a canonical amino acid length of 494 residues and a protein mass of 55.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in the adrenal gland. Other names for this target antigen include CA21H, CAH1, and CPS1. Western Blot is the most common application for the CYP21 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
