Anti-STX8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein syntaxin 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 236 amino acid residues and a mass of 26.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart. A member of the Syntaxin protein family, STX8 is known to be involved with intracellular protein transport. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include CARB and CIP-1-associated regulator of cyclin B. STX8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of STX8 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
