Anti-LY5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LY5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PTPRC gene, which encodes protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type C. This protein is known to function in B cell differentiation and receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of LY5 has a canonical amino acid length of 1306 residues and a protein mass of 147.5 kilodaltons, although 8 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and bone marrow. Other names for this target antigen include B220, B220, and CD45. A number of LY5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Flow Cytometry is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
