Anti-PKC zeta antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PKC zeta is a known alias name of the protein protein kinase C zeta, encoded by the PRKCZ gene in humans. This 592-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell migration and receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain, and to a lesser extent in the lung, kidney and testis. The term PKC2 is another synonym for PKC zeta. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for PKC zeta antibodies.
