Anti-PTTG antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PTTG is a known alias name of the protein PTTG1 regulator of sister chromatid separation, securin, encoded by the PTTG1 gene in humans. This 202-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a regulatory protein, which plays a central role in chromosome stability, in the p53/TP53 pathway, and DNA repair. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed at low level in most tissues, except in adult testis, where it is highly expressed. Other synonyms for PTTG include EAP1, ECRAR, and HPTTG. Western Blot is the most common application for the PTTG antibodies listed below.
