Anti-cilia and flagella associated protein 276 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CFAP276 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 169 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in cerebrum, cerebellum, gastrocnemius muscle, spinal cord and lung tissues. It is a known microtubule inner protein (MIP) part of the dynein-decorated doublet microtubules (DMTs) in cilia axoneme, which is required for motile cilia beating (By similarity). Other names for this target antigen include protein CFAP276, uncharacterized protein C1orf194, and protein C1orf194. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
