Anti-abhydrolase domain containing 17A, depalmitoylase antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the ABHD17A gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 310 amino acid residues and a mass of 34 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 4 different isoforms for this protein. It is a member of the ABHD17 protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including palmitoylation. Other names for this target antigen include abhydrolase domain-containing protein 17A, abhydrolase domain-containing protein FAM108A1, family with sequence similarity 108, member A1, and alpha/beta hydrolase domain-containing protein 17A. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
