Anti-abhydrolase domain containing 16A, phospholipase antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the ABHD16A gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 558 amino acid residues and a mass of 63.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is a member of the ABHD16 protein family. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Spastic paraplegia. Other names for this target antigen include D6S82E, NG26, PP199, SPG86, hBAT5, phosphatidylserine lipase ABHD16A, HLA-B associated transcript 5, and BAT5. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species.
