Anti-abhydrolase domain containing 17B, depalmitoylase antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the ABHD17B gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 288 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the ABHD17 protein family, it is known to be involved with proteolysis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including palmitoylation. Other names for this target antigen include CGI-67, FAM108B1, alpha/beta hydrolase domain-containing protein 17B, abhydrolase domain-containing protein 17B, and C9orf77. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
