Anti-flagellum associated containing coiled-coil domains 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FLACC1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 445 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. Other names for this target antigen include ALS2 chromosome region 12, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 (juvenile) chromosome region, candidate 12, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosomal region candidate gene 12 protein, and flagellum-associated coiled-coil domain-containing protein 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
