Anti-TLC domain containing 3A antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TLCD3A gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 257 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the pancreas. It is noted to be involved in the metabolism of lipids. Other names for this target antigen include family with sequence similarity 57 member A, membrane protein expressed in epithelial-like lung adenocarcinoma, protein FAM57A, and TLC domain-containing protein 3A. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
