Anti-cilia and flagella associated protein 141 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CFAP141 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 101 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is a known microtubule inner protein (MIP) part of the dynein-decorated doublet microtubules (DMTs) in cilia axoneme, which is required for motile cilia beating. Other names for this target antigen include protein CFAP141 and uncharacterized protein C1orf189. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
