Anti-FCH and mu domain containing endocytic adaptor 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FCHO2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 810 amino acid residues and a mass of 88.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the FCHO protein family, it is reported to function in an early step of clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Other names for this target antigen include FCH domain only 2, FCH domain only protein 2, and F-BAR domain only protein 2. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
