Anti-germ cell-less 1, spermatogenesis associated antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the GMCL1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 515 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is noted to be involved in spermatogenesis. Other names for this target antigen include germ cell-less homolog 1, germ cell-less, spermatogenesis associated 1, spermatogenesis associated 29, spermatogenesis-associated protein 29, and germ cell-less protein-like 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
